Room & seating
Geometry, seating positions, sightlines, viewing distance and how the room will actually be used.
We do not proceed with a new theatre project without it.
The room, seating, screen, loudspeakers, subwoofers, acoustics, projection and infrastructure all affect one another. Resolving those relationships before construction gives us the best opportunity to achieve the performance you are paying for.
Good design establishes what the theatre needs to achieve and gives every later decision a reason.
Geometry, seating positions, sightlines, viewing distance and how the room will actually be used.
Screen and projection requirements, loudspeaker/subwoofer architecture and acoustic objectives.
Equipment location, services, cabling, ventilation, construction requirements and documentation.
For detailed room design, I work closely with Kolosseum to help ensure the engineering and documentation are complete.
The aim is to make the right decisions before construction so we can deliver the best possible design outcome — and therefore the best performance for your money.
The design intent is carried through specification, installation, configuration, calibration, measurement and verification.
